JAKE STYLE:

    This is the house that JAKE built. The house of JAKE Style. What is JAKE Style? And more importantly, how do I get it?  The answer is simple. Step in and you are on your way.  I am here to provide only the best in vintage apparel and accessories for all men and the women who love shopping for them.  (Everything's) Jake isn't about clothing as much as it is about individual style, uniqueness, and the confidence that comes from knowing that you are always looking your best.  As one of Esquire magazine's top 5 "Best Dressed Real Men of 2007”, I will take my passion and knowledge of the governing rules of fashion and style off the page and into your home.   Dressing and living well is a craft and as such, rarely happens by accident.  Whether we are building a wardrobe from scratch or delving into the lost gentleman arts, this is where it all begins, one step at a time.

 KNOWLEDGE IS POWER:

     It is important to know that there are rules about fit, fabric, color and so on. Don't know the rules? Don't worry.  I do.  The phrase "the devil is in the details" rings true in many areas of life.  Of those none is more important than the attention paid to the details of proper dress.
 

THE FIRST YEAR (or so):

The first year of business has been an ABSOLUTE BLAST!  I knew that men needed a place where they could get great style, suberb service and a place they could call "their own". I am both grateful and humbled that you all have chosen JAKE to be that place. I have many a success and am proud that many of you have allowed me to guide you into becoming the stylish gent you have envisioned for yourself. 

ABOUT MY CLIENTS...

I have had the privilege to work with some of the country's most gifted stylists, photographers, directors and producers along with a long list of industry creatives. It has been a true pleasure  assisting them all , and furnishing each and every one with exceptional pieces for their photo, video and motion picture mediums.  Jake Vintage and Jake style can be seen in Movies like "The curious case of Benjamin Button", and  more recent, "The Soloist" staring Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey Jr.. The editorial shoots have been too many to name. And the shop itself has been the chosen location for 2 full blown photo shoots (many of the images found within the pages of the LA WEEKLY's 2008 "Best of" were done right here), and 3 video productions for various web-based shows. 

And lets not forget the Rockers!  From Mike and Johnny of Social D. ( thanks for the great show and the "A" list treatment ) to Dave Alvin, Ryan Adams, Members of the Pogues, Chet Lyster of the Lucinda Williams band, Kiefer Sutherland ( no, that is not a typo ) and more. You  know I've got a soft spot for you all!

I am especially proud and honored to be a part of AMC's breakout hit "Mad Men" and will be featured in the bonus tracks found on the soon-to-be- released season 2 DVD!  This shop has afforded me the ability to get to know hundreds of new clients, many whom I can now call friends. The shop is really all about relationships.  Many of you have let me into your lives and shared the stories made possible by what a great suit can and did do for you.  

I have dressed many a man taking the plunge, whether walkin' down that aisle or into a new job or carreer. I am truly happy for the successes of all my clients. Here's to you all, the best damn clients a guy could hope for!

THE FUTURE:

Who really knows what the future holds in store for any of us? What I do know is that coming soon JAKE will launch a private label line of dress shirts which will surely complement the vintage suits and sport coats found here at the shop or many of the ones found in your closet.  The shirts will be a JAKE exclusive and will be of the highest quality "Super 120's Sea Isle cotton". They will be available soon and only here at the shop.

 O.K. RIGHT NOW! The highly anticipated launch of my private label line of "Dress Whites" have arrived. It sems like celebrities and us regular folks have taken to these beauties like a moth to a flame. Any of you who watch the "Tonight Show" w/ Jay Leno might see my Jake of Hollywood shirts wore by the ever stylish Rickey Minor, The band leader and musical director  as well as 4 other members of his band. Anyone looking for a shirt with a great '60's vibe will consider these a "must have. I wore the model with french or "double cuffs" with my vintage Brooks Brothers Tuxedo to my last Black tie affair and Boy Howdey if it didn't look uber elegant.
